Railfan
    Canada
The Rail-Fan.ca project aims to be a one stop list of locations of intrest to railfans throughout Canada along with integrated mapping to help you find and get to these locations.

This project started while I was planning my model railroad and asked myself, "what does a Canadian train station look like, what style of stations where built?". This got me to start photographing surviving stations in my area, which in turn evolved into an obsession to find and photograph any surviving train stations in Canada. As I persued my quest I came across may museums, tourist railways, locomotives, and other interesting railway related things, and so my project snowballed even more. The final inspiration for the format of this project came as I was travelling through various towns and cities across Canada, and scrambling to search the internet at quick stops to see if there was a Station near by to photograph or hobby shop to check out.

This is very much going to be an ever evolving project. I know since I have started to collect data for this project at least one station has been demolished, another almost destroyed by fire, and hobby shops have closed and moved. As such I am very much hoping to build a community around this site who can help be the eye's and ears of this project across the country. To that end if you have a location I've missed, a photo to share, or a correction please see the contribute page.

Thank you for taking an interest in this project and exploring our shared railway history and culture. Hopefully you will find this project of use in your travels.
